Edgewood officials are holding the second public meeting to update the town’s Comprehensive Plan.
The meeting will be facilitated by the town’s consultant, Consensus Planning, and includes a presentation on the planning process to date, draft goals and objectives, and alternative land use scenarios for how Edgewood may grow in the next 20 years. Participants will be asked for feedback on the draft goals and objectives and alternative land use scenarios.
The Comprehensive Plan addresses all aspects of the community, including community profile, land use, economic development, housing and neighborhoods, community services and facilities, transportation, infrastructure, hazard mitigation and more.
According to Edgewood Community Liason Linda Burke, the town usually takes a look at its plan every five years. Burke said Consensus Planning was paid $65,300 for consulting with town officials on the process.
The public meeting will be held in person from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 27, at the Edgewood Town Office, located 171-A N.M. 344.
There will be several more public meetings in the coming months for participants to attend.
