I grew up in Edgewood. I have to say I’m embarrassed for my hometown in reading this.  If people want to believe in a religion (like Christianity or whatever) that’s their right.  This is America.

Similarly if people do not want to follow a religion that is also their right.  This is America.  Church and State must remain separate if the government is to represent all of its citizens.

Believe what you want but keep it out of government.

I side with Thomas Jefferson on this one.   Folks can practice their religion, any religion or none at all, that’s their choice and is the beauty of our nation.  But as soon as you insert religion into government it is no longer a government for all people.
