The North Central Regional Transit District Blue Bus (NCRTD) announced the launch of its MyBlue ride-sharing service in Edgewood starting Oct. 15.
The new service will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering residents a transportation option within the Edgewood MyBlue zone.
According to a press release, MyBlue is similar to ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft. Riders can book door-to-door trips via an app or by phone, all for just $1 per trip. Trips may be booked to accommodate up to four passengers. To celebrate the launch, NCRTD is offering a special coupon code “EDGEWOOD,” which grants Edgewood riders free trips through Nov. 15.
“The introduction of MyBlue in Edgewood is a significant step forward for our community,” Edgewood Mayor and NCRTD Board Member Kenneth Brennan said. “It provides an affordable and reliable transportation solution that will make a real difference in the daily lives of our residents. We appreciate NCRTD’s commitment to enhancing our local transit options.”
NCRTD will also be restoring the $1 fare for MyBlue trips in the Española and Taos zones, effective Oct. 15. The fare had been temporarily waived while the Blue Bus adjusted service levels due to a shortage of bus operators. MyBlue had been serving as an interim transit solution but those bus service levels were recently restored.
“We are pleased to expand our MyBlue ridesharing service into Edgewood,” said Anthony Mortillaro, executive director of NCRTD. “This innovative transportation option not only enhances mobility for residents but also complements our existing free Route 290 commuter bus service to Santa Fe. We believe it will greatly improve access to essential services and job opportunities in the area.”

According to the release, the NCRTD, with headquarters in Española, connects communities, pueblos, and tribes across 10,000 square miles throughout north central New Mexico.
