Barbara Spada, age 82, formerly of Covert, NY, passed away on December 5, in her Land of Enchantment for the past 30 years, New Mexico.

She loved the wide-open spaces of the high New Mexico desert, the smells and sounds of the Southwest. In New Mexico, Barb lived a simple but happy and spiritual life. She was a strong, courageous and fiercely independent woman, a free spirit who loved living her life on her own terms.

She made friends easily because of her fun-loving, kind and caring personality, and those friends were her constant visitors at the end of her life. They are Joyce, Joel, Angela, John, Tara and Mitch. Barb is survived by (daughter) Danyae and husband Dale Chasse in California, (son) Kyron and wife Kasey Spada in New York, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Roblee, and her husband, Jim. During family visits Barb enjoyed going along on road trips and had such fun every time. Barb’s family and friends will miss her forever, as she was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow to all who knew her.
